Municipal Emergency Preparedness Training Rethinking Your Response

We provided a functional emergency exercise for the Town of Brewster, MA which involved a tornado strike along the bayside area of the Town.  The purpose of the exercise was to role play scenarios between departments to test knowledge, communications, and response. This training helps departments improve communications, processes, plans, and policies to handle an actual emergency. Our planning experts worked with the Fire Chief and other staff to tailor the topic and content. Carl Simons & Will Keefer introduced the situation and then managed the role-playing by emailing participants bits of scenario information that required participant action. The instructors adapted the scenarios by adding in events, questions, or news. The results of each group are documented as to how they handled the situation. At the end of the training HW reviewed the overall results and shared results and observations from the role-playing exercises.
